Product Introduction (17AM)
The 17AM series thermal protector is manufactured with proprietary Klixon technology from Texas Instruments USA. It is an over-temperature protection component for electrical appliances. Electric current flows through the Klixon bimetallic strip. When abnormal operation causes excessive ambient temperature, the bimetallic strip disconnects the contacts to protect the equipment. Contacts automatically close and reset once the protector cools down to a safe temperature.
The 17AM series also provides overcurrent protection. In cases of short circuit or motor locked rotor, rapid current rise generates thermal effect on the Klixon bimetallic strip, instantly cutting off the protector contacts.
Integrating over-temperature and overcurrent protection, the 17AM thermal protector features compact size, large contact capacity, fast tripping response and stable reliable performance.
