KI66 / KI67 Thermal Switch
Compact size, easy to install, equipped with quick-action bimetallic strip, vacuum varnish impregnation process and fast thermal response.
KI66/KI67 current-type thermal protectors are widely used in plastic-packaged motors and electrical equipment for industrial and household appliances. They provide effective and reliable safety protection against abnormal operation caused by overcurrent and overheating.
The housing is made of high-strength PBT engineering plastic with high heat resistance and fast thermal conductivity. It is suitable for external installation of sealed motors and safety protection of household appliances. The reinforced housing supports internal installation of sealed motors, and can withstand plastic molding pressure up to 3.5MPa.
Structure & Protection Principle
KI66/KI67 thermal protector consists of heat-conducting metal/plastic housing, bimetallic element with silver alloy contacts, conductive bracket, insulating fixing base, static contact piece and high-temperature resistant wires.
Current flows through the resistive bimetallic element. During abnormal operation, when current rises or ambient temperature reaches the preset tripping value, the bimetallic strip acts rapidly to separate contacts and cut off the circuit.
When the device cools down to safe operating temperature, contacts automatically close and resume normal operation.
